Nigeria Wins Big @ 2021 The Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) 10th Edition

Nigeria’s first feature-length animated movie ‘Lady Buckit and the Motley Mopsters (LBMM) won the category of Best Animation at the 10-year Anniversary edition of Africa International Film Festival.

The movie was first released in cinemas on the 11th of December 2020 and was well received by a large audience that had looked forward to seeing the much talked about project. — after over two years of production work. The production is being hailed as a watershed moment for the African film industry.

The movie was directed by Adebisi Adetayo of 32AD from a story by Stanlee Ohikhuare and a screenplay by Ayo Arigbabu. It starred Bimbo Akintola, Patrick Doyle, Bola Edwards and Kalu Ikeagwu in the lead roles and about 30-member cast and crew.

Ladybuckit and the Motley Mopsters also recently signed a deal with Netflix and is now streaming on the VOD platform.
